Grass is always greener on the other side...and I’m sure all of your horses are going to be dreaming of taking advantage of our lush, new pasture feature! Yes, that’s right -- the anticipated pastures are here!

Horses of any age and status can be placed on pasture, with a few exclusions to keep in mind:
• Leased horses are not eligible.
• Mares in foal are not eligible.
• Horses may not be listed for sale, lease, or auction while on pasture.
• Stallions may not stand at stud while on pasture.
• Retired geldings may not be used as buddies while on pasture.

Yearlings may be sent to pasture any time between April and July. All other horses may be sent to pasture between March and October. Horses placed on pasture will remain out until January of the following game year - no exceptions. While on pasture, horses may not be fed, trained, perform buddy workouts, enter races, or enter shows. Although not being fed or trained, they will not be counted as neglected.

Benefits of being on pasture will vary depending upon age and status. All 2yo+ horses on pasture will remain consistently at 60% condition. All horses on pasture will also see Coat Condition deteriorate faster. Stallions and retired geldings are the only horses that receive no additional benefits.

• 4yo+ will receive training bonuses if pastured the previous year

• Rewards Golden Apples monthly depending upon birth max potential:
50+: 10 apples
40-49: 8 apples
30-39: 6 apples
20-29: 3 apples
< 20: 1 apple
• Improved pregnancy risk during the year following pasture

It is important to keep in mind that most benefits happen monthly or will have a stronger impact if the horse spent more time on pasture. For example, the bonus in training and improvement to pregnancy risk are based upon how many months the horse spent on pasture. Prime and Fertility do not go up every month, so sending a horse to pasture earlier in the year will give them better odds of improvement.

To place your horse on pasture, visit their Manage page and click the button, if available. Your horse will be removed from any stall they are currently living in and will be moved to the Pasture section of your stable. You can find the link to view pastured horses on the left side under the standard stable categories.

sounds interesting, although for us with not much time, (stupid real life) hah a tab on stable page where you can choose multiple horses to send to or bring back from pasture might be good idea, much the same way as you can feed all yearlings, etc etc and train etc etc, thanks.would be much faster to use. thanks

The Stallion Grade system has been updated and testing is open again. These updates offer more flexibility in factors that have less impact on a foal's potential while placing more weight on factors that have a stronger impact on a foal's potential. The Handbook page has also been updated, though the most notable change is that tested Average PQ cannot grade higher than C.
