The end of year is fast approaching and it's time to take a look at some of the updates heading at us for the year ahead. I'll have more news as we move into December, but there's a couple things I wanted to make you aware of tonight.

First off, MII status will now be permanently assigned. A mare will either be MII or not MII at birth, based upon her birth max and her genetics. This will no longer changed based upon her foals, so you'll be better able to plan ahead for breeding.

Secondly, the Pacific region will be closing its gates as of January. There will be no Pacific races held in Y42. This is not necessarily a permanent closure, but necessary until such a time as race entries pick up enough to support a full 3 regions. We will be updating race cards (primarily G3 and G2) in America and Europe to balance out this loss, but overall expect to see more competitive races in the coming season rather than AQ races being won by allowance-caliber horses.

We understand this may be a difficult transition for some barns, so we've implemented a track swap feature to aid in the process. If you visit the Assistants page (found on the left side in your Stable), you can select to move all of your horses from any one track to another track at which you have an assistant. They will not lose any familiarity or suffer in any way if you move them using this method. This quick move will be available from now through the end of February.

Beginning in Y42 we will also no longer be running the Primary/Secondary Track system we've used for many years past. We will be switching to a simplified system where each horse has one "Home" track which also determines their region much the way Primary did before. Further details will be announced as we head into the new year, but don't be alarmed if you no longer see Secondary Track listed on your Manage pages.

Thanks for the news updates! I’m sad to hear about Pacific closing, and am hopeful that there will be races held there in the future. Also intrigued about the new track system, I’ve never had a secondary track (too lazy to assign my horses those, plus I have a small enough amount of racers not to warrant it) but this development is still very interesting to see! And the news that MII will no longer lose their status is very welcome.

Time to actually split my barn into both regions like I should have a while ago. Sad but it's honestly a good thing. Races in the Pacific were always empty for me, and I typically enter last minute.

I'm sad to see Pacific region go, but I do understand and hope to see it return in the future! I will be moving my entire estate to NA, to fulfill my new updated stable plans. I look forward to seeing the new changes/additions as they come up!

Interesting updates, the closing of the Pacific region will mainly affect the number of possible Enteries for some of the series races for me, but I understand that it is to ensure we get enough Enteries into the stake races to make it competative.

Don't think the other updates here will change much for me since I have just started breeding and I have only relied on a primary track for all my horses.

I like all of these changes! My favorite would have to be the MII change though, because it is rather frustrating that mares could just randomly lose their MII status after one foal or planning for more MII mares than you will actually have.

I really think this is a good call as I have found a lot of my horses and up in empty races (which looks good for their orb but ruins the fun and challenge of an honest win lol). I hope we'll eventually have enough barns/people to open the third track again.

The MII change sounds like a good thing, not real happy about the Pacific change but as others say, maybe it will be back in the future. I find that my trouble is finding enough races for all my horses and many times some just end up standing in their stalls. :( I may be doing my racing a little differently as I try to get as many entered in meet A, so I have meet B to focus on other things, especially with the breeding season coming up.

Bit disappointed about losing the Pacific Region; as that's where I am from then it was only natural to choose that region. Unfortunately it would seem most of the players must be from the Europe/North America area so naturally more players choose those regions. Here's hoping the game can attract more players from the Pacific area in the future so we can get enough to have the region reinstated. Maybe it's a call to my fellow players from the Pacific Area to get the word out about the game to help attract new players.

Thanks for the heads up! The MII update is a great idea especially for the upcoming breeding season (it is going to be my first one and I am super excited to get into the breeding aspect of the game). As for the Pacific tracks, it will be sad to see it go.

Closing tracks that don't fill their race card or only get 1 or 2 entries per race is for the best right now. In real life, that's what would happen because the tracks would be losing money! Still hopefully they will come back someday. I haven't done any breeding yet, but the MII update makes sense to me esp. if players make the mare's breeding plans for a year or two out.

Can't breed horses yet, but as I'm planning ahead for that the MII being assigned at birth will definitely help. Seems complicated enough for a beginner. Anything that might make it easier is definitely welcome

A new Yearling Quick View has been added. It shows Morale, Maturity, Risk and indicates if a horse has Genetic Ratings purchased (as required for YA). Additionally, yearlings now show Forever Pro Traits in their Trait & Stat Panel so that you can more easily manage Risk.

Mare grade inspections have reopened. There is a now a fee for grade testing mares, as listed on the inspection page. Mares do not need to be tested to be eligible to breed. The only other adjustment to mare grading is the removal of surface from the grading formula.

A few minor adjustments have been made to Stallion Grades and stallions will need retested. Notably - Since SS/Import/Custom cannot be the worst level of 'Average', they may still earn B grades. Horses with tested negative mutations also cannot grade higher than C unless tested AA+ PQ. This info has been updated in the Handbook as well. Thanks for your patience!

The Stallion Grade system has been updated and testing is open again. These updates offer more flexibility in factors that have less impact on a foal's potential while placing more weight on factors that have a stronger impact on a foal's potential. The Handbook page has also been updated, though the most notable change is that tested Average PQ cannot grade higher than C.

Jockey fees (taken from race income) have been adjusted. The fee for 3 jockeys has been reduced, while additional cost tiers have been added for having 4 or 5+ actively contracted jockeys.

HT mares will earn 1 bonus foal slot, meaning they always retire with at least 2 slots. A bonus slot is also earned for placing top 5 in a series race, rather than top 3.
