| Good morning, FFH! I hope you were all successful in the Gold Cup races, whether by winning a coveted trophy or simply seeing a horse shine their brightest. Next up on our calendar is the end of year World Championship Festival, which also marks the end of the normal racing season. Before we dive too far into breeding, we've been taking a closer look at the FFH economy in terms of when, where, and how you're earning and spending money. FFH is a strategy game and challenging enough in that respect so the last thing we want you to feel frustrated about is making ends meet. Balancing a budget is an important part of any game, but it should certainly not take priority over the nuances of gameplay itself. With that in mind, we've made a number of adjustments to the economy as listed below. • Jockey fees have been reduced. G3+ races now charge 4% for one jockey, 8% for two jockeys, and 10% for three or more jockeys. Non-graded races charge 2%, 6%, and 8% respectively. • Assistant fees have been reduced. G3+ races now charge 6% for one assistant, 10% for two, and 12% for three or more. Non-graded races charge 4%, 8%, and 10% respectively. • Race purses have been increased for some grades. (Starting next meet.) G2 races are $200,000, open Allowance are $50,000, NW4/5 Allowance are $40,000, and NW2/3 Allowance are $35,000. • Race purse distribution has been slightly rebalanced to reward higher payout to lower placings, making it a bit easier to at least earn back your entry fee. The splits are now: 1st - 36%, 2nd - 23%, 3rd - 16%, 4th - 11%, 5th - 8%, and 6th - 6%. • Partnership paybacks have been increased. Level 1 partnerships pay back 10% of earnings, Level 2 pay back 25%, and Level 3 pay back 40%. In addition, the bonus payback for series races has been increased to 7%. • Genetic Ratings and Genotypes will be discounted when buying for yearlings. This is not finished quite yet, but you'll be able to tell when it is! • Farm plots have received minor adjustments. They will now have lower odds of triggering 'events' and the costs of events have also been reduced. • Prices in the Feed Mill, for both regular and Mega bags of feed, have been reduced. • The 9* Breeding skill which gives you breeder earnings has been increased from 5% to 8%. • The 2* Business skill which gives you a discount on tack and feed has been increased from 25% to 30%. • The Golden Apple Orchard is temporarily accepting retired mares for trade in. In addition, the potential requirements have been reduced to 30 (or 25 if you have the 9* Business skill). The amount of apples you are rewarded for trade in has also been increased. • Semi-unrelated to economy fixes, the cost of Imports has been raised to a total of 500 PC. Deposits remain 100 PC/$1,000,000, but you will now have to pay 400 PC to actually select a horse. There have been a staggering number of imports made already and we hope this change will ensure a healthy balance remains for FFH as a whole.
