Hi, all! This is the official contest post for Up To Your Standard-Bred, a Y49 racing contest for 2yo STBs. There are prizes, including PC, free breedings to fancy studs, and a raffle! I'm having trouble formatting the complete rules for posting on the forum itself, so the full set of rules will be in a linked gdoc. Please read the rules, in full, before signing up! If you end up with an incorrect signup due to not knowing what the categories are or something, some or all of your entries will be disqualified from the contest. As a reminder, the divisions are: 100% Select, 1-99% Select, Import, Import lineage, Horse Trader, and Horse Trader Lineage. For the first four categories, you may have UP TO ONE horse in each. You may have UP TO TWO in the Horse Trader Lineage category, and UP TO FIVE in the Horse Trader category. The MAXIMUM horses you can enter is FIVE.

A. (#1380) Phoenix Rising Stables Posted On: 5/19/2022 04:31 PM	One more request - if you are signed up for the contest and already have ALL of the stablewides, please let me know! FFH has generously donated 3x stablewides as prizes, which should obviously go to players who are missing at least one stablewide. Basically, if you win a stablewide but already have them all, you will automatically receive the next prize down instead. But I'm not sure what my schedule will be like when I'm doing the prizes, so I'd rather have a list ahead of time rather than have to sit around waiting for a response to messages. Thanks!

A. (#1380) Phoenix Rising Stables Posted On: 5/22/2022 12:43 PM	Entries are NOW CLOSED and may NOT be changed. The spreadsheet has now been updated to reflect the entries. Please check your entry on the spreadsheet as soon as you can to make sure your username/#, horse names, horse divisions, and horse links are correct. I did have to make some corrections to the entries as they went in - including some horse disqualifications due to participant error (too many in a bred division when I checked the parents/grandparents, wrong breed, etc). I'm happy to make corrections to any transcription errors I may have made, but since we are past the deadline I cannot change entries that say N/A on the spreadsheet; doing so would require I allow new horses to be added, and would be unfair to the other participants. Tentatively, our beginning numbers are: Participants - 27 Horses - 124 100% Select - 8 1-99% Select - 5 Import - 14 Import Lineage - 18 HT Lineage - 13 HT - 66 So, that's four completely full divisions, and two medium divisions, tentatively (though it will ultimately depend on eligible entries at the end). If 50+ of the HT horses manage to finish 5 races this year, I will bump their PC prizes up so that the top 10 HT horses win PC/extra raffle tickets, instead of the top 6.

Our PC pot is at 8625 PC currently. As only 4400 PC is going out to our division and series winners, the remaining 4325 PC will be added to the raffle in whatever amounts make sense. If you won a stable upgrade or an import voucher, those must be done by an admin I believe; and in the case of a stable upgrade, you will need to get in touch with a mod to let them know which one you want (can be anything except pro/forever pro). If you won items or PC, I will be distributing those a little later on, and should be done with that by the end of the day tomorrow! When I'm done distributing items/PC, I'll post one final wrap-up post, and then we'll be all done. :)

All Paint marking genes are now weighted by breed. Paint Horses have a higher chance of passing Paint markings to their foals, while all other breeds have a lower chance of passing Paint markings to their foals. This makes the classification of Paint markings Common for Paint Horses and Rare for all other breeds.

Prime has been broken and has not been declining at all for several game years. As a result, most horses have substantially more Prime than should be appropriate. (Ex: A 6yo who hit 100% Peak by the time they turned 4 should have lost 24+ Prime but has actually lost none.) Rather than setting all horses to what they should have, horses 5 and older will temporarily lose Prime twice as fast to accommodate.

Mare grade inspections have reopened. There is a now a fee for grade testing mares, as listed on the inspection page. Mares do not need to be tested to be eligible to breed. The only other adjustment to mare grading is the removal of surface from the grading formula.

A few minor adjustments have been made to Stallion Grades and stallions will need retested. Notably - Since SS/Import/Custom cannot be the worst level of 'Average', they may still earn B grades. Horses with tested negative mutations also cannot grade higher than C unless tested AA+ PQ. This info has been updated in the Handbook as well. Thanks for your patience!

The Stallion Grade system has been updated and testing is open again. These updates offer more flexibility in factors that have less impact on a foal's potential while placing more weight on factors that have a stronger impact on a foal's potential. The Handbook page has also been updated, though the most notable change is that tested Average PQ cannot grade higher than C.
