1. What information does Flying for Home collect?
When registering for and/or playing Flying For Home ("FFH", "flyingforhome.com", "site", "game"), you ("user") voluntarily provide basic information about yourself and your account. Other information may be collected when you login or access the website. FFH collects the following information from all users:
  1. E-Mail Address
  2. Username
  3. Password
  4. Nickname and stable name
  5. IP Address
  6. Dates and times of service
  7. In-game activity including but not limited to: items you own, horses you own, PC/money in your FFH bank, and private messages
  8. Friends/family who play from the same location (as reported by you when obtaining permission for multiple accounts on an IP)
  9. Dates, times, and amounts of Pro Coins purchased through PayPal
In addition, our server collects aggregate geographic data. This data is not linked directly to your account in any way (meaning we cannot trace it back to individual accounts), but allows us to better understand the demographics of our users. This data includes:
  1. Location (country)
  2. Browser or platform
  3. Search engines used to find FFH
  4. Data and traffic statistics
2. When do we collect information?
Data is collected when you login to FFH and during your time logged in. Your IP address is updated each time you login. Your last active time is collected each time you visit a page or access a script. Other information is collected when you provide it during registration or when you choose to update any of the information in your profile or account settings.

3. How is your information used by Flying for Home?
This information is collected to identify you and protect your account while also enhancing your experience on the game. Information may also be used in any of the following ways:
  1. To establish communication in the instance where we may need to contact you outside of FFH (e-mail)
  2. To monitor the progress of FFH's development
  3. To enhance participation in contests, surveys, or other features
  4. To provide better service when evaluating greviances
  5. To ensure users are following the Terms of Service
  6. To maintain security on Flying for Home, including blocking access to users which have been deemed threatening to the community and/or website
Data is also collected by our advertising partners, as explained in more detail below. Flying for Home is not involved with or responsible for the information they obtain or how it is used or stored.

4. How do we store and protect your information?
All data collected by Flying for Home is stored in our secure database which is protected not only by server-level security but also an additional firewall. Sensitive information is only accessible by a limited number of persons (administrators) and is never shared with third parties. All financial transactions are processed through PayPal. FFH does not have access to nor are we responsible for the storage of your financial data (bank information or credit/debit card information).

We value the security of your information and take all resonable precautions against possible security breaches of our website, database, and records. However, no Internet transmission is guaranteed to be secure and we cannot ensure that hacking, data loss, or other breaches will not occur. We therefore encourage you to take precautions and keep your personal information safe. Though your account is automatically logged out after a period of inactivity, we encourage you to log out immediately after use.

Flying for Home is not responsible for the security of your personal data during the transmission process and access of the site is at your own risk. Nor are we responsible for any security breaches on your own computer that may collect information during your online browsing experience. Once your information has been collected and stored, we have features in place to try to prevent unauthorized access.

5. How can you help keep your information secure?
You should keep in mind that information you provide in some areas of the site is publicly visible. This includes your nickname, barn name, stable profile, horse profiles, private messages, forum posts, forum signatures, avatar, stable banner, etc. By creating, updating, or posting this information, you are indicating that it is information which you wish to share publicly. We strongly discourage you from displaying personal or sensitive information on Flying for Home.

In addition, you should not disclose your password to any third parties. If you suspect your account has been accessed by an unauthorized person, report it and change your password immediately. In addition, routinely changing your password is encouraged. As outlined in our Terms of Service, Flying for Home is not responsible for unauthorized access to your account if/when you do you not keep your username and password secure.

6. What are "cookies" and how do we use them?
Cookies are pieces of text/data stored on your device while you browse online. They can provide information about website visits and allow webpages to recognize you and remember your preferences and settings. When you access Flying for Home, a session ID cookie is stored on your computer and remains as long as you are actively using the website. This cookie expires after a period of inactivity, at which point you are logged out of the game. Selecting to remain always logged in will keep your cookies active indefinitely - typically until your browser closes - rather than expiring at a certain time. Cookies are also used by our advertising partner, which is explained in the Cookie Policy below.

You may update settings in your browser or on your mobile device which will block cookies and other local storage. However, doing so will negatively impact your access to Flying for Home and the features of the site. You may no longer be able to remain logged in or may experience other bugs or glitches while browsing the site. Flying for Home will not be held responsible for any performance issues that result from disabled cookies.

7. How can I view or change personal information collected by Flying for Home?
You can view your information by visiting your stable settings, stable profile, horse profiles, etc. You can edit this information from those respective pages. If, for any reason, you are unable to view or edit your personal information you may contact an administrator and ask them to update and/or remove your information.

In accordance with your Right to Erasure or desire to Opt-out per GDPR laws, you may delete your personal information at any time. If you wish to permanently remove all of your information stored by Flying for Home, you may contact an administrator and request that your information be deleted. Please understand that deleting personal information is permanent and may result in a loss of all horses, items, currency, and other content associated with the account.

Age of Consent
For residents of the United States, the Children Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) states that websites and online resources should not collect information about children under the age of 13. Parents are given control over their children's Internet experience and their child's safety online.

In accordance with these laws, Flying for Home does not allow access to children under the age of 13. All users are required to verify their age at the time of registration so that Flying for Home can ensure each user is 13 years of age or older. Any users found to be in violation of this rule will immediately have their account and data deleted.

The age of consent varies for users residing outside of the United States as per General Data Protection Regulation GDPR and other national policies. If you are under 16 years old and live outside of the United States, you are responsible for checking your country's age of consent for data collection. European resisdents can do so here.

You must be of age of consent in order to play Flying for Home. If you are under the age of consent in your country, you may not register for or play Flying for Home because we cannot collect data from you (including usernames or forum posts). In accordance with these laws, if we believe someone is under the age of consent in their country we reserve the right to permanently delete their account and data.

Cookie Policy
This website will store some information about your preferences on your own computer inside a tiny file called a cookie. A cookie is a small piece of data that a website asks your browser to store on your computer or mobile device.The cookie allows the website to remember your actions or preferences over time.

These changes happen at the discretion of FFH and may be prompted by national or international law changes which require us to update our Privacy Policy. Major changes to these policies will be announced via news post. However, users are encouraged to review this page and the Terms of Service regulary to check for updates.
