	Suggestions Added, Off Season Training, Well Rested

	We’re getting an early start on a few new-year-tidying projects! As per a request on the suggestions forum, retired horses will no longer gain stats when bought/sold. It seems that the gain of stats could negatively impact your plans for a retired gelding. Gaining stats doesn’t benefit mares or stallions in any form or fashion, so we just went ahead and scratched this for all retired horse sales. Based on another request, we’ve added new items to the Golden Apple Orchard exchange shop. This includes: Goggles, Mystery Bags, Whoopie Bags, and Dun Tokens. More items will likely be added in the future as GAO becomes more settled into a balance we are happy with. Rolling on with the trend of useful suggestions, two new options have been added to your stable Settings page. You may now disable outbid notifications as well as interest earned (from your savings account) notifications. If you later wish to receive notifications again, you may return to that page to enable them. The main Search has been updated to allow you to search by breed. You may also now search for horses by ID# instead of just name. Results displayed also show the new breed icons rather than the old ‘custom’ icons. We have plans to update breeds in the Genotype Search before breeding season is underway, so hang tight if that’s what you’re hoping for. You will now earn experience when feeding the Rusty Recycler. While this isn’t a substantial change, it will reward active members by helping them level up a little faster. Horses will now suffer a larger condition decline when not fed and/or trained in any given month. We have noticed a number of stables cutting corners by simply not feeding their horses, which is really not in the spirit of things. This should discourage this practice and also more realistically mirror the impacts of neglect. This, of course, will have no impact on horses in frozen accounts. Training during off season offers some new benefits! Off season is meant to be a time of rest for most horses so that you can focus on end-of-year cleanup/organization as well as planning for breeding season. To further encourage this and remove some of the stress of feeling like you need to race in off season, your horses will see some bonuses to doing extensive training. During off season only, which runs from November through February, horses performing a Track or Trail Ride may improve their maximum Courage or Consistency. In addition, horses performing Long Gallop may improve their Colt Composure or Filly Power. A new racing dynamic has been added where horses will receive a ‘Well Rested’ bonus if they are...well rested! What does well rested mean? It means your horse is mentally fresh and ready to race. Horses who are pushed too hard may become sour, which impacts their performance on the track. In FFH terms, a horse will always earn a ‘rested bonus’ in races based upon their (hidden) rested stat. If a horse is currently ‘Well Rested’, they will show a shiny blue star next to their Energy bar. (Please note: This is in no way related to their actual Energy stat!) How do you keep your horse rested? Simple! Be sure to give them a break from racing every so often. Horses have unique personalities and some can handle frequent back-to-back racing without getting sour, while other horses are easily stressed and need to take a break more often. Keep an eye out for the blue star and you’ll be able to get a feel for how often each of your individual horses likes to race. They will very likely still earn some bonus points even if not at a level where the star shows up, so you absolutely can (and should) race even when it’s not showing. It just might be a good idea to give them a rest right before big races so they’re ready and raring to win!

	Interesting additions and changes. I feel compelled to constantly race my horses because they are running out of prime (maybe my new nuturing jockey will help with that) so I'm not sure how these incentives to "rest" horses will affect my stable.

Prime has been broken and has not been declining at all for several game years. As a result, most horses have substantially more Prime than should be appropriate. (Ex: A 6yo who hit 100% Peak by the time they turned 4 should have lost 24+ Prime but has actually lost none.) Rather than setting all horses to what they should have, horses 5 and older will temporarily lose Prime twice as fast to accommodate.

Mare grade inspections have reopened. There is a now a fee for grade testing mares, as listed on the inspection page. Mares do not need to be tested to be eligible to breed. The only other adjustment to mare grading is the removal of surface from the grading formula.

A few minor adjustments have been made to Stallion Grades and stallions will need retested. Notably - Since SS/Import/Custom cannot be the worst level of 'Average', they may still earn B grades. Horses with tested negative mutations also cannot grade higher than C unless tested AA+ PQ. This info has been updated in the Handbook as well. Thanks for your patience!

The Stallion Grade system has been updated and testing is open again. These updates offer more flexibility in factors that have less impact on a foal's potential while placing more weight on factors that have a stronger impact on a foal's potential. The Handbook page has also been updated, though the most notable change is that tested Average PQ cannot grade higher than C.

Contesting horses will have a 3 leg jackpot series through July, August, and September beginning in Y55. This will be offered for both barrels and poles with alternating regions per race.

Performance based Suggested Grade now only looks at a horse's most recent race. This should alleviate a lot of problems where horses show a lower grade than is actually appropriate, helping avoid Handily results.

Mares who are already retired may be eligible for reduced foal slots. If so, a notice will appear at the top of their page allowing you to opt in (or opt out) of the foal slot change.

The value of Golden Apples has been updated to 200 GA = 100 PC = $1,000,000 (loosely). Prices for items in the GAO have been updated accordingly. The PC value for Sunkissed Tart, Ultra Wraps, Cream Token, Roan Token, and Dun Token have also been updated.
