	Phew, it's been a busy weekend on FFH but we've crawled our way into Y49! I hope everyone had some exciting series results from the big December races. If not, may this year offer a fresh start! Feel free to ask for help if you're having a hard time with racing or training. As of this morning, the majority of updates pertaining to Goldbloods are in and functioning. I know there's a lot of questions which I'll attempt to cover here. If any of your questions aren't answered in this post or the previous post, please stop by a help channel on Discord or the forums. Goldbloods have all been converted to their new distances, as outlined in the previous news post. Every horse has a new favorite distance and all distance proficiency has been reset to 0%. Horses 3 and older have the opportunity to instantly boost their proficiency by selecting a distance in the box at the top of their page. This can only be done once and is only available through March - after that it's up to you to train them as you normally would. Goldbloods who were formerly marathon have been converted back to flat and those who were formerly hurdle have been converted to timber. Goldbloods no longer have marathon races, but you may continue to race former marathon horses on flat or transition them to steeplechase. Goldbloods only have timber steeplechases and must meet the usual eligibility requirements to transition unless they were previously trained for hurdle. Goldblood SC races are held on all surfaces at the same tracks as flat races. The new Goldblood tracks are open for business! You can hire assistants and assign tracks to your GBs. Information about these tracks can be found on the Training Assistants page. Please note that each track only offers one surface of races: sand, turf, or varied. Horses who are dual may enter varied surface races but they are also still eligible for sand and turf. Although you may want to get an assistant at a varied surface track if you have a lot of GBs, it's not necessary to do so as they can be housed at a sand or turf track. Through March, 3yo+ GBs will instantly develop 70% familiarity when assigning a new track. Speaking of varied surface - you're probably wondering how that works in races. Courses with varied surface contain substantial segments of both sand and turf. Horses must be able to tolerate both surfaces to do well there. Their PR is impacted based on their average of both surfaces - so a horse with 100% sand and 40% turf would be treated as if it has 70% suitability for the race. Surface notes and injury chances are determined by whichever surface has the lowest proficiency. Although that horse with 100% sand and 40% turf may still run a reasonable PR, they are ill-suited to the turf sections of the course, will receive a surface note, and are susceptible to injury. Goldbloods are now less impacted by travel than other breeds. Their PRs will not suffer quite as much when racing away from home. They will also lose less Rest and Energy and have a reduced chance of injury (compared to other breeds) when racing outside their home region. If you have GBs with ‘Strong' travel ability, don't shy away from racing out of region. An outline of Goldblood series races can be viewed on the Events page. Distances and dates are unlikely to change, but it's possible there will be minor adjustments as we see how the year goes. We're also still open to suggestions for series race themes! Please submit any ideas to #community-forum on Discord. Here's some other little Y49 updates: • Training Assistant and Jockey purse fees have been updated with assistants becoming substantially cheaper. Charts with a breakdown of these fees can be viewed on their respective pages. • Race Preferences may now be set to include ‘Any Tracks', which will show races at tracks from all regions when searching for races. • You can now 'Subscribe' to forum posts to receive notification of replies. Authors of original posts will automatically receive notifications for replies to their posts. • Players only receive boosted HT horses for their first 25 horses. If they sell these horses, they will not receive more boosted horses. • Bugs impacting 2-3 year old favorite distances for Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, and Paint Horses last year have been fixed for this year. 3 year olds should never have a favorite distance over 9F or 600yds. • Race result pages have a minor update to make it easier to see placings. • Partnership purchase fees will be refunded if a horse is sent to the GAO and had not yet earned over $750,000. • The Distance & Surfaces page in the Handbook has been updated with information pertaining to Goldbloods. • Training Help guide (linked on Exercise pages) has been updated to reflect the changes to Groundwork and Long Gallop discussed in the previous news post. Finally, the Spring Fling PC Sale started yesterday! For the duration of the sale, you'll receive 1 PC free for every 3 PC purchased. There's also some items stocked in the Pro Shop that aren't stocked year-round. The sale will run at least one full week - ending no sooner than April 24th. Notice will be given at least 24 hours before the sale ends.

	I am SO excited for Goldbloods now, when before they were maybe my 3rd priority breed! It'll be interesting to see how the series work out, and just regular racing, and their racing mechanics definitely spice them up a bit! I also really like the changes to assistant fees as my stable is getting bigger, and YAY for fixing the bug with favorite distances! All in this is a fantastic way to start the new year!

Horses no longer have a chance to reveal genotype upon retirement. However, the chance to reveal transition genes is increased for horses who have a Minor, Major, or Master. (With each award offering a greater chance.)

Horses who earn Court of Stars now receive a Producer Quality boost. Horses who have already earned Court of Stars have also received a PQ boost.

A few minor adjustments have been made to Stallion Grades and stallions will need retested. Notably - Since SS/Import/Custom cannot be the worst level of 'Average', they may still earn B grades. Horses with tested negative mutations also cannot grade higher than C unless tested AA+ PQ. This info has been updated in the Handbook as well. Thanks for your patience!

The Stallion Grade system has been updated and testing is open again. These updates offer more flexibility in factors that have less impact on a foal's potential while placing more weight on factors that have a stronger impact on a foal's potential. The Handbook page has also been updated, though the most notable change is that tested Average PQ cannot grade higher than C.

Contesting horses will have a 3 leg jackpot series through July, August, and September beginning in Y55. This will be offered for both barrels and poles with alternating regions per race.

Performance based Suggested Grade now only looks at a horse's most recent race. This should alleviate a lot of problems where horses show a lower grade than is actually appropriate, helping avoid Handily results.

The value of Golden Apples has been updated to 200 GA = 100 PC = $1,000,000 (loosely). Prices for items in the GAO have been updated accordingly. The PC value for Sunkissed Tart, Ultra Wraps, Cream Token, Roan Token, and Dun Token have also been updated.

HT mares will earn 1 bonus foal slot, meaning they always retire with at least 2 slots. A bonus slot is also earned for placing top 5 in a series race, rather than top 3.
